You can turn any tag in your email templates into a clickable link. This is useful when you want clients to select a tag-generated URL directly from the email (like a booking link, reschedule/cancel link, or any other tag that outputs a URL).
Hyperlink an Email Tag in a Messaging Template
- Open the email template you want to edit and locate the tag you want to turn into a link in the Body of that template.
- Highlight the tag text in the template’s editor and click the Insert/edit link button
- In the Insert Link panel:
- Copy the tag from the Text to display field
- Paste it into the URL field
- Paste it into the URL field
- Copy the tag from the Text to display field
- If you leave the tag in the Text to display field, the link that is generated for the tag will be what is displayed in the final email. If you prefer to hide the actual tag text behind custom wording (like “Join Meeting” or “Manage Appointment”), update the Text to display field with the text you want clients to see in the email.
- Once saved, the linked text will appear blue and underlined, indicating that it is properly hyperlinked.
What happens when the email sends?
Even when hidden behind custom text, TimeTap will still replace the tag with its real URL or value. When clients click the linked text, they’ll be taken to whatever URL that tag generated in the background. This helps keep your communications looking clean while still directing users to the proper URLs.
