If you have a service availability schedule set up, but need to block off time for a doctor's appointment or vacation, you can easily ensure no appointments can get booked during that time using a Time Off. Using a Time Off to block this time is often simpler than modifying your availability for specific dates.
Once added, Time Offs can viewed from the:
- Calendar View
- Availability View
- Time Off Appointment Lists
- Open Upcoming Appointments list (the right-hand side when adding appointments)
You can also edit Time Off entries to adjust the blocked time as needed.
Key Points to Remember
- Time Offs are only visible to staff in the Backoffice, not clients
- Time Offs do not have statuses and no clients can be attached to those events
- Once added, Time Offs immediately block your availability from the client-facing scheduler
Clients cannot override a Time Off to add appointments through the scheduler, though Staff can override a Time Off when scheduling appointments through the Backoffice. To avoid scheduling conflicts, keep an eye on the Upcoming Appointments log that displays on the right side of the page when adding new appointments.
